For the past 10 years I?ve been practicing emergency medicine and have seen an alarming increase in opiate addiction. This has led my practice of medicine to specialize in opiate addiction treatment. As a tool to break the opiate addiction, patients are prescribed suboxone. Patients are also expected to attend onsite group meetings where they are guided thru a 12 step program. Our overall goal is to help the patient get to the root cause of their addiction and ultimately recover completely.
