Method Of Forming A Wall Plate Package

US Patent:
4067169, Jan 10, 1978
Filed:
Mar 17, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/778419
Inventors:
Louis Zampini - Providence RI
Joseph P. Stefani - Warwick RI
Assignee:
General Electric Company - New York NY
International Classification:
B65B 1500
US Classification:
53 3
Abstract:
A packaged article having a screw extending through the article is provided. The article packaged may be any article having a screw opening through it and having a screw for mounting the article into its normal place of use. In the package article of this invention the screw extends through the article and into a package to hold the article to the package. The package has a hole for receiving the screw and in this invention has also a threaded nut of polymer or pitch material bonded to the package. A method of forming a packaged article is also taught.

Angled Assembly Of Pcb Dimmer

US Patent:
3997820, Dec 14, 1976
Filed:
Dec 11, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/531566
Inventors:
Joseph P. Stefani - Warwick RI
Assignee:
General Electric Company - New York NY
International Classification:
H05K 714
US Classification:
317120
Abstract:
A light dimmer product is provided having simpler construction and simpler assembly than prior art dimmers. Simplicity of construction is achieved by providing a printed circuit board and mounting all electrical leads from components to the board to permit a single soldering operation to solder all leads simultaneously. Simplicity of assembly is achieved by mounting portions other than current carrying portions to the mounting bracket of the dimmer product as a sub-assembly to be assembled to the housing. When assembled, the bracket support components by portions other than current carrying portions and the current carrying portions of these same components support the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board supports other components by their current carrying portions.

Surge Suppression For Low Voltage Signal Circuits

US Patent:
4903161, Feb 20, 1990
Filed:
Jan 19, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/145081
Inventors:
Paul G. Huber - West Warwick RI
John J. Gizienski - Coventry RI
Edward B. Miller - Avon CT
Joseph P. Stefani - Warwick RI
Dewey L. Harris - Coventry RI
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Schenectady NY
International Classification:
H02H 320
US Classification:
361 56
Abstract:
A voltage surge suppression circuit for a low voltage coaxial cable comprises a gas tube connected across the signal and shield conductors and an MOV connecting the shield conductor to a ground. In the case of a balance signal line comprising two conductors, a first gas tube connects one line to ground and a second gas tube is connected across both conductors. A third gas tube may connect the other conductor to ground in which case the second gas tube may be optional. The ground is preferably a ground associated with a power line voltage surge suppression means.
