Method And System For Artificial Intelligence Directed Lead Discovery In High Throughput Screening Data

US Patent:
2004011, Jun 17, 2004
Filed:
Aug 27, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/649596
Inventors:
John Elling - Santa Fe NM, US
Susan Bassett - Santa Fe NM, US
Assignee:
Bioreason, Inc.
International Classification:
G06G007/48, G06G007/58
US Classification:
703/011000
Abstract:
A computer based system for analyzing a set of data objects and establishing a mechanism model representing a set of features that is likely to correlate with a specified response characteristic. A computer may establish a description for each of the data objects based on a comparison between a set of descriptors and features of the data objects. The computer may then select a group of the data objects that have similar descriptions and that represent the specified response characteristic. The computer may then adaptively learn a mechanism model by mapping the discriminating features of the group back to the objects in the group. The computer may further designate the mechanism model as a new descriptor and iteratively repeat the process to establish yet an improved mechanism model. The invention is particularly well suited for use in establishing pharmacophores representing chemical structures that are likely to correlate with activity in a particular assay.

Methods And Apparatus For Discovering, Identifying And Comparing Biological Activity Mechanisms

US Patent:
2004014, Jul 22, 2004
Filed:
Mar 11, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/473626
Inventors:
John Elling - Santa Fe NM, US
International Classification:
C12Q001/68, G06F019/00, G01N033/48, G01N033/50
US Classification:
702/019000, 435/006000
Abstract:
Provided herein are methods and devices for the assessment and identification of cellular biological activity mechanisms; the assessment and identification of the changes in cellular biological activity mechanisms caused by cellular perturbations; the assessment and identification of the cellular function, or biological activity mechanisms of genes and gene products and; and the identification of the many genes and their products that collectively act together in a biological mechanism.

Interpolated Image Response

US Patent:
2005024, Nov 3, 2005
Filed:
Jan 27, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/044395
Inventors:
Vance Faber - Carnation WA, US
John Elling - Santa Fe NM, US
International Classification:
G06F019/00, G01N033/48, G01N033/50
US Classification:
702019000, 702020000
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for characterizing a multidimensional distribution of responses from the objects in a populations subject to a perturbation. The methods enable the creation of a “degree of response” scale interpolated from non-perturbed and perturbed reference populations. The methods enables, using the interpolated degree of response scale, the quantitation of a degree of response of a test compound subject to a given level of perturbation, and enables the generation of a dose-response curve for a test compound. The methods are useful in a wide range of applications, such cellular analysis and high-content screening of compounds, as carried out in pharmaceutical research.

System And Method For Ultrasonic Focused Printing

US Patent:
2012004, Mar 1, 2012
Filed:
Aug 31, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/223076
Inventors:
Reinhold F. Wirth - Sandia Park NM, US
John W. Elling - Santa Fe NM, US
International Classification:
B05C 11/00
US Classification:
118612
Abstract:
Printing of conductive layers on and/or in semiconductor materials using acoustic focusing to create a standing half-wave sound wave across a capillary. In response to the acoustic pressure, particles denser than the fluid in the capillary are driven to the node in the center of the capillary to concentrate metal particles within an organic solvent flowing through the capillary. Depositing the focused flow on a surface and/or substrate creates a line of metal particles that can be subsequently treated to create a conductive line. The concentrated metal particles are arranged in a stream of ink and subsequently deposited on a surface, creating a long pile of metal particles that are subsequently treated to form a conductive line for use in photovoltaic arrays.
