International Classification:
G01N 33/38
US Classification:
73661, 378 54, 324649
Abstract:
A void detection system for detecting voids in fresh concrete is disclosed. The void detection system includes at least one probe disposed on a vibrator and adapted to detect voids in the fresh concrete, and an indicator in communication with the at least one probe and adapted to receive real-time data from the at least one probe. Upon receiving the real-time data, the indicator relays information to a user indicative of the fresh concrete's consolidation.

Quality Control Of Concrete Vibration

US Patent:
2013007, Mar 28, 2013
Filed:
Sep 20, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/623345
Inventors:
ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC. - Charlotte NC, US
Maria Silvia Guimaraes Biagini - Charlotte NC, US
John T. Lindberg - Huntersville NC, US
James Joseph Wall - Charlotte NC, US
Assignee:
ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC. - Charlotte NC
International Classification:
B29C 39/44
US Classification:
264 31, 425135
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of controlling concrete vibration is disclosed. The apparatus includes a global positioning sensor adapted to provide a location of a vibrator relative to a concrete structure, a recording device adapted to record data during vibration of the concrete, and a data transmission device adapted to transmit the data to a processor for analysis of the data to determine if the vibration is in compliance. The vibrator is adapted to vibrate the concrete to remove air contained therein and promote concrete consolidation.
