Suspended Scaffold

US Patent:
4570749, Feb 18, 1986
Filed:
Feb 11, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/700802
Inventors:
John R. McKibbin - Birmingham AL
Assignee:
Mason Corporation - Birmingham AL
International Classification:
E04G 316
US Classification:
182 36
Abstract:
A portable suspended scaffold utilizes a carriage having circumferentially grooved rollers which engage upturned flanges on a set of purlins. A suspension structure depends from the carriage such that workers may affix overhead fixtures such as roof panels to the purlins above the scaffold. The scaffold utilizes a plurality of platform elements which are removably carried by the suspension structure such that the scaffold may be manually propelled along the length of the purlin without having the workers thereon dismount.

Erection Hinge

US Patent:
4590719, May 27, 1986
Filed:
Feb 11, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/700603
Inventors:
John R. McKibbin - Birmingham AL
Assignee:
Mason Corporation - Birmingham AL
International Classification:
B66C 2306
US Classification:
52116
Abstract:
An erection hinge for use in erecting columns for open air structures utilizes a mounting plate which removably attaches to the foundation of such structures and which supports an offset hinge. The offset hinge carries a cradle which supports a column to be erected. A gin pole and rigging attached to the cradle or column translates simple linear force into a pivotal motion of the column and cradle on the hinge to position the column on its foundations.
