I believe that most problems can be treated without surgery. I believe that when surgery is contemplated, it is a joint decision between myself, my patient and often my patient's family. In treating patients, it is not only my expertise that is important but also that of my staff, the hospitals with which I am affililiated and the ancillary services (therapy, xray, MRI, etc) that I utilize. This 'team' approach leads to better outcomes because communication is improved between providers.
