Abstract:
An electrically insulated pipe coupling and method is disclosed in which a first sleeve member and a second sleeve member are positioned in axial alignment and include oppositely positioned end portions axially spaced from one another to create an axial space therebetween. A resilient annular seal portion is gradually formed in situ (preferably by applying liquid urethane onto a rotating mandrel) in the axial space. The seal portion is chemically bonding to the oppositely positioned end portions and creates a low pressure coupling seal between said first and second sleeve members. An outer protective layer made from continuous synthetic resin saturated fiberglass strand windings is encircled around at least a portion of the end portions of the first and second sleeve members to enclose the seal portion. Finally, a rigid reinforcing sleeve is embedded in and covered by the fiberglass windings of the outer protective layer.

Abstract:
The diaphragm valve has a valve body portion with a chamber therein. The chamber has an open top portion and an inlet and outlet communicating therewith. The valve body has a valve seat in the chamber. The valve member is positioned in overlying relation with the valve seat and is arranged to control the flow of fluid through the chamber. A yoke member connected to the valve body within the upper portion of the valve chamber has an axial passageway therethrough. A bonnet having a passageway therethrough is coaxially aligned within the yoke member. A valve stem is arranged for reciprocal movement within the yoke member and bonnet passageway. A diaphragm assembly is positioned within the valve chamber between the valve stem and the valve member. A spring urges the valve member upwardly against the underside of the diaphragm assembly to open the valve. A packing ring surrounds the valve stem and is positioned within an annular recessed portion of the bonnet passageway.

Abstract:
A valve structure is provided having a housing with an open top valve chamber and inlet and outlet passages on opposite sides of the valve chamber forming a through passage with the valve chamber through said housing, a generally spherical radius valve seat on each passage at the valve chamber, a bonnet removably covering said valve chamber, a stem extending through said bonnet generally axially of the valve chamber, a pair of generally spherical radius closure discs in the valve chamber sealingly adapted to engage the valve seats, a disc carrier for each disc in the valve chamber, each disc carrier having a through passage in a plane transverse to the plane of the disc providing full flow therethrough from the inlet to the outlet passage when the valve is in opening position, an eccentric means provided on the stem and engaging each disc carrier for selectively moving the discs into and out of engagement with the valve seats and a guide between the bonnet and at least one of said disc carriers guiding the disc carriers on rotation of the stem from an open position in which the through passages in the disc carrier provides free flow between the inlet and outlet passages and a closed position in which the discs are aligned with the valve seats and holds the disc carriers in that position while the eccentric moves the discs selectively axially into and out of engagement with the valve seats.
