Dr. Dorchak specializes in orthopaedic surgery with an emphasis in spine surgery. He has a patent on instrumentation methods for vertebral interbody fission. He has also designed cervical and lower lumbar fusion cages, as well as the associated surgical techniques. He is also one of the lead surgeons in developing the innovative surgery of total disc replacement.
