Combined Multi-Detector Ct Angiography And Ct Myocardial Perfusion Imaging For The Diagnosis Of Coronary Artery Disease

US Patent:
2011011, May 12, 2011
Filed:
Sep 29, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/680152
Inventors:
Albert Clark Lardo - Baldwin MD, US
Richard T. George - Monkton MD, US
Joao A.C. Lima - Baltimore MD, US
Eduardo Marban - Los Angeles CA, US
Assignee:
THE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
A61B 6/03
US Classification:
378 12
Abstract:
A computed tomography system has a support stage constructed and arranged to support a subject while under observation, an x-ray illumination system arranged proximate the support stage to illuminate the subject with x-rays, an x-ray detection system arranged proximate the support stage to detect x-rays after they pass through the subject and to provide signals based on the detected x-rays, and a data processing system in communication with the x-ray detection system to receive the signals from the x-ray detection system. The computed tomography system has a dynamic mode of operation and a scanning mode of operation. The data processing system extracts information concerning a dynamic process of the subject based on signals from both the dynamic mode and the scanning mode of operation.

X-Ray Ct Apparatus And Myocardial Perfusion Image Generating System

US Patent:
2006024, Oct 26, 2006
Filed:
Mar 10, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/075667
Inventors:
Takashi Ichihara - Otawara-Shi, JP
Toshihiro Rifu - Saitama-Shi, JP
Joao Lima - Baltimore MD, US
Assignee:
TOSHIBA MEDICAL SYSTEMS CORPORATION - Otawara-Shi
THE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
A61B 5/05
US Classification:
600425000
Abstract:
An X-ray CT apparatus comprises a blood-flow information acquisition unit, a correction value calculating unit and a blood-flow image generating unit . The blood-flow information acquisition unit obtains information of a relative blood flow rate in the myocardium of the subject P based on the CT image. The correction value calculating unit obtains a correction value based on the CT image in a concentration transition period defined to be a period from immediately after starting of a continuously injection of a contrast medium into the subject P until the contrast medium injected reaches to the myocardium, increases, and will be in a state where it can be considered that the contrast medium is saturated in a constant value. The blood-flow image generating unit generating a blood flow value image in the myocardium by correcting the information of the relative blood flow rate with the correction value.

Image Processing Apparatus And Program

US Patent:
2009026, Oct 29, 2009
Filed:
Sep 24, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/236934
Inventors:
Hiroyuki NIINUMA - Baltimore MD, US
Kakuya KITAGAWA - Baltimore MD, US
Joao A.C. LIMA - Baltimore MD, US
Yasuko FUJISAWA - Otawara-shi, JP
Miwa OKUMURA - Utsunomiya-shi, JP
International Classification:
G06K 9/00
US Classification:
382128
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a storage unit which stores volume data associated with an area including a contrast-enhanced artery as an examination target, a first calculation unit which calculates a plurality of partial atherosclerotic indexes associated with a plurality of portions of the artery on the basis of morphological information associated with the artery which is obtained from the volume data, a second calculation unit which calculates a whole atherosclerotic index associated with the entire artery including the plurality of portions on the basis of the morphological information associated with the artery, and a display unit which displays evaluation information based on the calculated whole atherosclerotic index.
