I guess I'm an old fashioned psychiatrist - I like to talk to my patients. Although thoroughly trained in Biological Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology, I don't do 10 minute "med checks". I check on my patients, not their medications. And that takes a little time. I offer 25 minute appointments for people that don't need psychotherapy per se and 45 minute appointments which allow time for medication management (if needed) as well as psychotherapy. I spend 1 - 1.5 hours on the first visit.
