Philosophy:
Dr. LeeâÂÂs philosophy centers on excellence of care. She believes this goal requires dedication, commitment and passion from all members of the health care team; including not only a patientâÂÂs physicians and nurses, but perhaps most importantly, from the patients themselves. She is a proponent of health care education and patient empowerment fostered by open lines of communications between patients and physicians as well as between physicians themselves. Although she is a specialist in kidney disease and focuses on preservation of kidney function, she believes firmly in the importance of preventative health care which unfortunately increases in complexity with the onset of kidney disease. Establishing sincere and frank relationships between patients and physicians are the foundation for these goals. Dr. Lee is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Internal Medicine as well as the subspecialty of Nephrology and is a license physician in the State of California. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor of arts in molecular and cellular biology. She went on to earn her medical doctorate at the Chicago medical School, University of Health Sciences. During her residency training in Internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she was a nominated participant in the American Society of Nephrology Program for Medical Students and Residents. This led her on to pursue further study of nephrology through fellowship training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is conversationally fluent in Spanish and Mandarin. She has a special interest in early detection of kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease and preventative care as well as issues surrounding access to medical care. Dr. LeeâÂÂs professional memberships include : American Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation, Renal Physicians Association and the American College of Physicians.
