Work up patients for all appointments, take chief complaints, obtain or update medical history of patients, perform diagnostic testing which includes OCT, GDX, Humphrey's Visual Field, Optos, Topography, Auto-refract, and BAT. Measure and record patient's distance and reading visions. Perform tonopen and applanation IOP, refract, over refract, and work with trial frames and lenses. Perform contact lens I&R. Have knowledge of ophthalmic terminology. Perform punctal plug procedures and suture removals. Use lensometer and auto lens meter to read glasses, perform four point adjustments, replace nose pads, screws, repair temples, and insert or remove lenses. Maintain inventory for office and clinical supplies. Maintain inventory of trial contact lenses for office stock. Assist receptionist in answering phone lines, scheduling appointments, and entering service charges.
