About:
I was raised in the business! I can honestly say I am a 4th generation real estate professional. My mother and stepfather have been selling for over 30 years in Nebraska and I grew up learning the lingo, the ins and outs of negotiating a contract, and general real estate business practices at the family dinner table. My maternal grandfather and great-grandfather were land developers, apartment building managers, commercial builders and opera house brokers in Colorado going back to the beginning of the 1900's. It's in my blood and there have been times I've tried other professions, but I have always found my way back to real estate.Moving from Nebraska to North Carolina in 1995 was exciting -- but a lot of forethought and research went into choosing Charlotte. I was looking for a new start -- and had several specifics that were going to be key for a move. I was tired of heavy, cold winters and extremely hot summers and I wanted a place that had 4 distinct seasons, without extreme cold or heat. My husband, at the time, had been raised on a lake in Iowa so he desired a body of water to boat on, and I spent my summers as a child at the family cabin in Colorado, so the mountains are dear to my heart. He worked in the financial/stock market business, so a city with that type of business focus was important. We loved the ocean and being closer to the coast was a desire for both of us. I wanted a larger city that had some growth potential and a better art scene than where I was raised, but I didn't want a city so large that it overwhelmed me -- being a small town Nebraska girl, I still desired to be close to the rural areas. And Charlotte popped up as the city with EVERYTHING we wanted. I have not been disappointed in my choice! Now it is home and I love it here. I believe that my experience researching a new home helps with my clients who are looking for a change as well. I have immersed myself in this new city and I often surprise my clients with area knowledge that others have not mentioned to them. I have a college degree with art as my focus -- I still try to be creative as much as possible and have an art studio in my home where I paint, teach, make jewelry, frame pictures and do many other art and craft mediums. My creative side lends itself well to the complicated negotiations of a real estate transaction -- I think outside the box to solve problems and produce solutions to "make it work" when others would just give up. My dedication to top notch customer service is key to my business. I keep in regular contact with past clients and customers with monthly market updates and if they refer a friend to me, they know I will take the best care of them, and be honest, caring and ethical. If you are reading this profile, I hope you give me a chance to assist you in your home purchase or the marketing of your current house. I am a good agent, and I work hard to prove that to all my customers.
