Philosophy:
Dr. Renan views a patient as a whole rather than a "limited" problem. This explains the unusual length of time spent interviewing patients regarding their past history, and especially their family history. This has lead to the diagnosis of risk factors such as Genetic diseases or predisposition to risky and sometime potentially fatal conditions.
Dr. Renan likes to compare solving a diagnostic problem to solving a puzzle, where every piece should fit in, or the solution is wrong.
Collecting all the lab-work and imaging ordered by other physicians, allows to view the patient in a comprehensive manner, and treat her right.
Dr. Renan believes in the "partnership" that exists between the patient and her provider. Sharing information, and explaining it to the patient in lay -terms are paramount to the success of this partnership. Dr. Renan always states that a well informed patient-is a well compliant patient.
