Filed:
Dec 7, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/295795
Inventors:
Jeffry R. Frahm - Frankenmuth MI, US
Matthew A. Royalty - Midland MI, US
Barry E. Monroe - Pinconning MI, US
Assignee:
Magline, Inc. - Pinconning MI
International Classification:
B62B 11/00
US Classification:
280 63, 280 7911, 193 41, 14 24
Abstract:
A portable floor surface and method of use thereof facilitates unloading side-by-side cargo carts disposed in laterally spaced relation with an aisle defined between them. The floor surface has a body with opposite front and rear ends and lower and upper surfaces extending between the front and rear ends. The upper surface is brought into a generally flush relation with the floor of the cargo cart when the lower surface is resting on a common floor surface with the cargo cart. A ramp surface extends at an upward inclination from the front end toward the rear end and a latch member operably associated with the body is adapted for operable engagement with a first cargo cart to releasably lock the portable floor surface to the first cargo cart.

Utility Carts In Train Formation With Releasable Hitch Device Therefor And Method Of Constructing The Same

US Patent:
2005021, Oct 6, 2005
Filed:
Mar 28, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/091050
Inventors:
Jeffry Frahm - Frankenmuth MI, US
International Classification:
B62B003/00
US Classification:
280079300
Abstract:
A hitch device arranged for operable attachment between a pair of carts for carrying cargo provides controlled movement of the carts in train-like formation in use. The hitch device has first and second bodies, with each body having a support member having opposite ends arranged for sliding engagement with a separate pair of upright supports of separate carts when the support members are in a first position. The first and second bodies are removable from the side rails when the respective support members are moved to a second position inclined relative to the first position. The first and second bodies have a separate link arm extending generally angularly from each of their respective support members. A fastener assembly is received to couple the link arms for controlled pivotal movement relative to one another.

Non-Powered Transportable Cart And Brake System Therefor

US Patent:
7216877, May 15, 2007
Filed:
Aug 4, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/196957
Inventors:
Jeffry R. Frahm - Frankenmuth MI, US
Matthew A. Royalty - Midland MI, US
Assignee:
Magline, Inc. - Pinconning MI
International Classification:
B62B 5/04
US Classification:
280 7911, 280 33994, 188 19, 188 29
Abstract:
A brake system operable to inhibit movement of a non-powered transportable cart. The cart has a platform with opposite front and rear ends, at least one pivotal caster wheel adjacent and supporting one of the front or rear ends, and a pair of fixed wheels. The brake system has a brake arm with a brake bar extending laterally therefrom. The brake arm is pivotal between a disengaged position and an engaged position. When in the disengaged position, a gap is defined between the brake bar and the fixed wheels to allow the fixed wheels to rotate freely. When in the engaged position, the brake bar engages the fixed wheels to prevent them from rotating. A brake latch is carried by the platform and has a catch sized to receive the brake arm to releasably maintain the brake arm in its engaged position.
