Contribution Of Energy To An Intelligent Electrical Network Through An Exercise Apparatus

US Patent:
8485944, Jul 16, 2013
Filed:
Apr 21, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/764117
Inventors:
Jeffrey M Drazan - Woodside CA, US
International Classification:
A63B 15/02, A63B 71/00
US Classification:
482 2, 482 1
Abstract:
Contribution of energy to an intelligent electrical network through an exercise apparatus is disclosed. In one aspect, an exercise apparatus includes a frame and a movable object coupled to the frame to generate an electrical energy when a mammal applies a force upon the movable object. In addition, the exercise apparatus includes an energy capture mechanism coupled with the movable object and the frame to harness the electrical energy from the movable object. The exercise apparatus also includes an energy transfer mechanism coupled with the movable object and the frame to transfer the electrical energy to an intelligent electrical network. The mammal described herein may be a human, a domesticated animal, a pack animal, and a beast of burden.

Application Of A Value Data To A Profile Of A Vehicle Based On A Location Of The Vehicle

US Patent:
2014007, Mar 13, 2014
Filed:
Sep 13, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/613185
Inventors:
Tom Beerle - Burlingame CA, US
Jeffrey M. Drazan - Woodside CA, US
Brian Boling - Knoxville TN, US
Assignee:
Spireon, Inc. - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
G06Q 40/00, G06F 15/173
US Classification:
705 39, 709223
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system related to an application of a value data to a profile of a vehicle based on a location of the vehicle is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a method of an administrative server includes processing a location data of a vehicle having an onboard location device, matching the location data to a value data based on a location lookup table, and applying the value data to a profile of the vehicle. The method may include applying a credit and/or a debit, based on the value data, to an account (e.g., a financial account, a non-financial account) of a user associated with the vehicle according to a predetermined policy of an administrator. The method may also include modifying the value data to a modified value data depending on a meta-data such as a time of day, a date, and/or a vehicle type/model.

Inductive Monitoring Of A Power Transmission Line Of An Electrical Network

US Patent:
8593151, Nov 26, 2013
Filed:
Feb 28, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/036028
Inventors:
Jeffrey M Drazan - Woodside CA, US
International Classification:
G01R 31/08, G06F 19/00
US Classification:
324522, 702 61
Abstract:
A method includes inductively coupling an electrical sensor to a transmission line associated with a node of an electrical network, and capturing power transmission information associated with the node through the electrical sensor. The method also includes communicating, through an electrical sensing device including the electrical sensor, information associated with a location of a power outage and/or a sub-optimal performance in the node to a processing node and/or a central control node associated with the electrical network.
