Method For Handling Telephone Calls Directed To Telephone Numbers Of Terminated Users That Have Been Reassigned To New Users

US Patent:
7266191, Sep 4, 2007
Filed:
Dec 10, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/010130
Inventors:
Jeffrey Kenneth Wilson - Austin TX, US
Indran Naick - Cedar Park TX, US
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
H04M 3/42
US Classification:
37921301, 37921801
Abstract:
A comprehensive method for handling telephone calls directed to a telephone number of a terminated user that has been reassigned to a new user. The present invention provides user with a notification service that intercepts telephone calls to said telephone number and notifies callers that the telephone number has been reassigned to the new user. Callers seeking the new user continue calls to user, which results in user only being alerted by continuing callers and not being bothered by callers seeking the terminated user. The user can customize the notification message to inform callers of the details regarding the telephone number reassignment and to whom the telephone number was reassigned. The user can specify a time period for the notification service to be activated. The notification service stores all continuing calls in a log, and bypasses all subsequent calls from telephone numbers listed in the log.

Private Email Content

US Patent:
2005010, May 19, 2005
Filed:
Nov 13, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/713739
Inventors:
Indran Naick - Cedar Park TX, US
Jeffrey Wilson - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709207000
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for employing private email content in an email message are disclosed. Embodiments include hardware and/or software for identifying an instance of private content in an email message, associating the instance with a recipient, and generating emails for each recipient, wherein the emails are redacted to display the email message with the instance when routed to a recipient associated with the instance and to exclude the instance when routed to a recipient that is not associated with the instance. Private content may include text in the body of an email that is identified by the user as being content for less than all of the recipients. In particular, a user may compose a message that contains text, some of which includes private content, and address the email to multiple recipients. The user may then associate one or more of the recipients with each separately identified instance of the private content so that recipients see the text that the user intends them to see.

Using static links, categorical-hierarchical web sites, search engines or any combination of the three, a user freely navigates through multiple web sites and particular locations within web sites. The NHDD maintains a record of the navigation path. In conjunction with the specific sites and materials included in the navigation path, the NHDD maintain a record corresponding to the relations among the points along the path. In response to a user input, the NHDD displays navigation history information related to the order in which the points along a navigation path were traversed. In one embodiment, the information is displayed as sequentially order markers overlaid on a web page.
