Abstract:
Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever) is currently diagnosed by relying on infected individuals (humans, dogs, etc.) to generate antibodies against the fungus. Since the immune response against Valley Fever can be delayed or absent in many cases, methods that detect a polypeptide or peptide component of the sp. fungus in a bodily fluid such as blood are provided.
