Fuel Injection Lubrication Mechanism For Continuous Self Lubrication Of A Fuel Injector

US Patent:
7540271, Jun 2, 2009
Filed:
Apr 25, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/739867
Inventors:
Ted E. Stewart - Ponte Vedra Beach FL, US
James Napier - Atlantic Beach FL, US
Assignee:
Advanced Global Equities and Intellectual Properties, Inc. - Atlantic Beach FL
International Classification:
F02M 69/04
US Classification:
123445
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for lubricating a plunger residing within a bushing of a fuel injector. The apparatus includes a fuel lubrication mechanism comprised of lubrication grooves formed within and around the outer axial surfaces of the plunger. The grooves act as fuel reservoirs for storing a small portion of fuel on the outer axial surface of the plunger. The stored or retained fuel interfaces with the walls of the bushing during injection to provide a lubricated interface between the bushing and plunger. The lubricated interface increases the service life of the fuel injector by reducing seizing, scoring and scuffing caused by excessive heat.

Fuel Injector Nozzle Assembly

US Patent:
7520269, Apr 21, 2009
Filed:
Jun 27, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/475559
Inventors:
Ted Stewart - Ponte Vedra Beach FL, US
James Napier - Atlantic Beach FL, US
Assignee:
Advanced Global Equities and Intellectual Properties - Jacksonville FL
International Classification:
F02M 61/14, F02M 61/18
US Classification:
123470, 123467
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fuel injection nozzle assembly comprising a poppet type valve assembly capable of producing a circumferential spray pattern. The fuel injection nozzle assembly includes a nozzle body defining a valve outlet into which is fitted a needle valve having a flanged portion extending from the nozzle body. The flanged portion opens and closes the valve outlet as the needle valve travels up and down the nozzle body as dictated by the fuel pressure within the nozzle body. The flanged portion may further direct the fuel spray into a combustion chamber.

Horizontal Control Surface For A Fuel Injector

US Patent:
2007001, Jan 18, 2007
Filed:
Jun 2, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/445949
Inventors:
Ted Stewart - Jacksonville FL, US
James Napier - Atlantic Beach FL, US
International Classification:
F02M 37/04
US Classification:
123501000
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fuel injection mechanism having a horizontal control surface formed within a plunger for regulating the start of fuel injection. The horizontal control surfaces are formed within one or more of the two opposed ridges formed within the plunger defining a recessed channel there between. The horizontal control surfaces of the ridges regulate the opening and closing of the ports formed within the bushing of the injector. The horizontal control surfaces contribute to reduced wear and provide for accurate timing and fuel quantity delivery.

Air Pressure Boost Assist

US Patent:
7661417, Feb 16, 2010
Filed:
Mar 13, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/685473
Inventors:
Ted Stewart - Ponte Vedra Beach FL, US
James Napier - Atlantic Beach FL, US
Assignee:
Advanced Global Equities and Intellectual Properties, Inc. - Atlantic Beach FL
International Classification:
F02B 29/00
US Classification:
123585, 123586
Abstract:
Disclosed is an electronic module designed to use the locomotive engine's speed sensors to detect such changes in engine speed (rpm), as required by the locomotive operator moving the throttle notch handle. Once a speed change is detected, the module commands an air valve on each of the locomotive's main air reservoir tanks, (designed to handle the normal operating main reservoir air pressure), to open and allow them to discharge into the engine's intake manifolds located on both sides of the diesel engine.

Identification Nameplate For A Diesel Engine Fuel Injector

US Patent:
2010014, Jun 17, 2010
Filed:
Nov 4, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/612093
Inventors:
Ted Stewart - Ponte Vedra Beach FL, US
James Napier - Atlantic Beach FL, US
International Classification:
F02M 63/00, G09F 3/00
US Classification:
2395332, 4029901
Abstract:
Disclosed is a nameplate which can provide both part and manufacturer information and timing guidance is a functional identification nameplate for a diesel fuel injector. The nameplate is attached to the top of the injector body and provides an alternative to the practice of re-machining the injector body's front face to remove past information in the remanufacture of the injector. Additionally, the nameplate serves as a functional static timing reference indicator in providing a vertical riser extending up from the top of the injector.
