Ball Separator For Ball Bearings

US Patent:
4019790, Apr 26, 1977
Filed:
Apr 22, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/679138
Inventors:
Melvin L. Earsley - Lubbock TX
Stephen L. Earsley - Lubbock TX
James L. Earsley - Lubbock TX
International Classification:
F16C 1920
US Classification:
308201
Abstract:
A primarily radial load ball bearing includes an assembly of outer and inner race rings having confronting raceways for a plurality of balls and a unitary ball separator fabricated of a moldable resilient material, having an annular base and annularly spaced fingers defining an interrupted cylindrical rib which projects between the outer and inner race rings and provides pockets for confining each of the balls of the bearing. Each finger defines a pedestal supporting at least two ears which are integral extensions of the pedestal and which are radially separated from each other. One ear extends into one adjacent pocket, and the other ear extends into the opposite adjacent pocket. The distance between the confronting distal lips of the ears for one pocket is less than the diameter of the ball, so that the ears define a snap-in entry to the pocket. The ears, then, are designed to be resiliently yieldable relative to the supporting pedestals. In alternative design each finger pedestal may support three radially spaced ears, so that the ears associated with a respective pocket are symmetrical relative to a plane including the spherical center of the pocket.

Assignee:
Apotheus Laboratories, Inc. - Lubbock TX
International Classification:
A61M 1600
US Classification:
12820512
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for preventing contamination of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of A Hospital by the use of a mask sealed to the patient's face and connected by a ventilator circuit to an airator that pulls a vacuum to exhaust the patient's expirations to the outside atmosphere. The disclosure also includes a "oxyvent" which is a tube adapted to be attached to an oxygen tank and to a patient to provide a higher oxygen ratio to the patient and to provide forced ventilation to a patient who has difficulty ventilating.

Swivel Tree Stand

US Patent:
5845890, Dec 8, 1998
Filed:
Jan 31, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/791194
Inventors:
James Earsley - Lubbock TX
Steve Fillipp - Lubbock TX
Jeff Schabowski - Waukesha Township WI
Assignee:
Industrial Molding Corporation - Lubbock TX
International Classification:
F16M 1300
US Classification:
248516
Abstract:
An adjustable tree stand utilizes a receptacle for receiving and securing the bole of a Christmas tree. The receptacle includes a substantially cylindrical sidewall, an upper, radially outwardly extending collar, a bottom wall including an integrally formed, upwardly extending pointed projection for engaging the bottom of the bole of a Christmas tree, a plurality of circumferentially spaced, radially extending, vertical ribs integrally formed with the sidewall, at least one of the ribs having a radially outwardly extending convex portion extending from below the upper collar to the bottom of the sidewall including a plurality of teeth extending along at least a portion of the circumference of the outwardly extending convex portion. The receptacle is adapted to a base including a truncated, substantially hemispherical interior sidewall for receiving the receptacle, the sidewall having upper and lower edges. The base includes an outwardly flared, exterior sidewall, the interior and exterior sidewalls being joined at the upper portion of the base to form an annular, locking ring receiving collar, a plurality of circumferentially spaced, radial support members, the support members extending outwardly from the exterior sidewall and a plurality of circumferentially spaced support ribs extending inwardly from the lower edge of the interior sidewall.
