Electromagnetic Audio And Data Signaling Transducers And Systems

Electromagnetic Audio And Data Signaling Transducers And Systems

US Patent:
7426279, Sep 16, 2008
Filed:
Jun 4, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/860054
Inventors:
James L. Cochran - Berthoud CO, US
International Classification:
H04R 25/00
US Classification:
381331, 379443
Abstract:
An electromagnetic field signal communications system () is based on a specially configured sending transducer (), having electrical conductors () wound onto a generally circular core () including an air gap () from which its electromagnetic fields () are generated when excited with input electrical audio or data () signals. The transducer () transmits by projecting these electromagnetic fields () onto adjacent signal receiving transducers () that transform the electromagnetic field () into proportional electrical signals. The electromagnetic fields () are transformed by a receiving transducer () located in an adjacent hearing aid device () such that input audio electrical input signals, which are processed by circuitry (), bypass the hearing aid microphone () and are routed to the eardrum speaker (). The transducer's () effectiveness is due in part to its ability to reduce environmental electromagnetic interference when excited with an electrical excitation signal () in lieu of or in addition to voice or date signals ().

Electromagnetic Data Signaling Transducers And Systems

US Patent:
2005003, Feb 10, 2005
Filed:
Jun 9, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/863489
Inventors:
James Cochran - Berthoud CO, US
International Classification:
H04M001/00
US Classification:
379443000
Abstract:
An electromagnetic field signal communications system () is based on a pair of specially configured and positioned transducers (), having electrical conductors () wound onto generally toroidal or C-shaped cores (). The positioned cores include an air gap () from which its electromagnetic fields () are generated when excited with input electrical data () signals or sensed by induction via their corresponding electromagnetic flux fields. The pair of transducers () are ideally suited for unidirectional or bidirectional electromagnetic communications between electronic devices of distinct types. Data () transfer is facilitated via precisely positioning and aligning the transducer air gaps (). Embodiments of systems teaching the use of portable hand held devices () in communications with a computer () and digital cameras or printers () are presented.

Continuous Form Feeder For A Reproducing Machine And Process

Continuous Form Feeder For A Reproducing Machine And Process

US Patent:
4714946, Dec 22, 1987
Filed:
Nov 27, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/802648
Inventors:
Teddy A. Bajgert - Boulder CO
Neall H. Bunker - Longmont CO
James L. Cochran - Longmont CO
Willis J. Duane - Boulder CO
Arturo Mojica - Boulder CO
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G03B 2762
US Classification:
355 75
Abstract:
A multipurpose document feeder, reproducing machine employing a document feeder, the process for operating the document feeder being adapted to copy in either a continuous form feeding mode of operation or an alternative document feeding mode of operation such as semi automatic document feeding. The continuous web support system when moved to its operative position automatically conditions the feeder and reproducing machine to copy in the continuous web mode of operation. An idling pin wheel which engages holes in the web edge is utilized to control incremental feeding of the web during copying and also for sensing jams or tears in the web.

Finisher--Exit Pocket Module For Copier

Finisher--Exit Pocket Module For Copier

US Patent:
4424963, Jan 10, 1984
Filed:
Sep 11, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/301335
Inventors:
Michael A. Bartholet - Boulder CO
James L. Cochran - Longmont CO
Donovan M. Janssen - Boulder CO
Robert Magno - Tucson AZ
Allan J. Rood - Longmont CO
William S. Seaward - Boulder CO
Lance A. Walker - Longmont CO
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
B42B 200
US Classification:
270 53
Abstract:
A compact single bin finisher adaptable to form collated sets of copy sheets outputted from a copier/duplicator. The finisher includes an output tray adapted to support the collated sets and to support copy sheets during accumulation of a set. A set accumulation module having an accumulation platform is disposed in a plane which is displaced both horizontally and vertically from the output tray. A transport device carries sheets into the accumulation module. A predetermined number of sheets form a set which may be stapled and is ejected onto the output tray.
