Structural Penile Implant

Structural Penile Implant

US Patent:
6537204, Mar 25, 2003
Filed:
Dec 10, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/014740
Inventors:
James Elist - Beverly Hills CA 90211
International Classification:
A61F 500
US Classification:
600 40
Abstract:
A penile implant apparatus has an arced, elongated body providing a wall thickness varying circumferentially from a maximum thickness at a top longitudinally directed surface, to a minimum thickness along a pair of bottom, longitudinally directed and spaced apart edges. The body may be constructed as a single integral form or as two mirror image related half portions which are joined during implantation. The wall thickness further varies longitudinally from the maximum thickness at a proximal circumferential edge to the minimum thickness at a distal circumferential edge. The apparatus is preferably made of silicone rubber, has a length and size enabling implantation subcutaneously and provides sufficient rigidity for enabling coitus.

Subcutaneous Penile Implant

Subcutaneous Penile Implant

US Patent:
5899849, May 4, 1999
Filed:
Sep 22, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/934860
Inventors:
James Elist - Beverly Hills CA
International Classification:
A61F 500
US Classification:
600 40
Abstract:
The present invention is a penile prosthesis device and a method for surgical installation. The prosthesis device is designed to be subcutaneously implanted into a penis above the corpus cavemosum and extending from the base of the penis to the glans penis. The prosthesis device contains one or more inflatable tubular sacks for enabling an erectile function of the penis, and these are covered by a shaped body for enabling an improved appearance, texture and size to the penis. Integral with the tubular sack is a base which is sutured to the pubic bone. The invention includes a manual pump preferably implanted into the scrotum and interconnected with the base means by a tube, used to inflate the tubular sacks. A fluid is pumped by the pump through the tube, through the base, and into the inflatable tubular sacks for pressurization thereof so as to cause the tubular sacks to achieve rigidity, thereby causing the penis to become erect. If the pump is not large enough to contain enough fluid to inflate the inflatable tubular sack, the invention includes a reservoir that feeds into the pump.

Penile Implant For Improved Appearance

Penile Implant For Improved Appearance

US Patent:
5669870, Sep 23, 1997
Filed:
Jun 13, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/662707
Inventors:
James J. Elist - Beverly Hills CA
International Classification:
A61F 226, A61F 500
US Classification:
600 40
Abstract:
An implant device improves the appearance of a penis that is misshapen, damaged or otherwise lacking in a natural anatomical appearance. A bellows like body being lengthwise expandable and generally flexible, is implanted between the penis shaft and the skin of the human penis. In the preferred embodiment, the body takes the shape of a double walled partial cylindrical sleeve, the walls having a bellows-like construction. A soft sponge material is positioned within the sleeve between the sleeve walls. When implanted, the body covers the shaft of the penis and extends in length between the glans penis and the base of the penis. One or more principally closed sacks is/are formed so that the device may receive a fluid from a fluid pressurization source. The present invention is well suited for patients that can achieve a natural erection, yet suffer from a penile malformity. The present device does not press inwardly on the shaft of the penis when pressurized, and further has a smooth, natural look and feel, both when the penis is flaccid as well as when it is erect.

Implant For Expanding Penile Girth And Length

Implant For Expanding Penile Girth And Length

US Patent:
5445594, Aug 29, 1995
Filed:
Apr 5, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/223045
Inventors:
James J. Elist - Beverly Hills CA
International Classification:
A61F 226, A61F 500
US Classification:
600 38
Abstract:
An implant device is disclosed for expanding the girth and length of a penis. A soft, flexible body is implanted between the shaft and the skin of the penis. The body takes the shape of a partial cylindrical sleeve that has an outer, relatively elastic sheet member and an inner, relatively inelastic sheet member. When implanted, the body covers the corpus cavernosum of the penis and does not or only partially covers the urethra, and extends in length between the glans penis and the base of the penis. A principally closed sack is formed between the inner and outer sheet members for receiving a fluid under pressure from a fluid source. Spring-like ribs are embedded within the inner sheet member for preventing collapse of the inner sheet member when the body is deflated.
