Inventors:
James J. Feese - Elizabethtown PA
Raymond F. Baum - Lebanon PA
Edward E. Moore - Hummelstown PA
Bruce C. Irwin - Chattanooga TN
Assignee:
Hauck Manufacturing Co. - Lebanon PA
International Classification:
F23Q 900
US Classification:
431285, 431115, 431182, 431188, 431284
Abstract:
A combination burner for selectively firing oil, natural gas and liquid propane. A modular first section has primary and secondary air tubes coaxially arranged therein and communicates with the main combustion air supply fan. A modular section is joined by bolts or the like to the first section and into which the primary and secondary air tubes extend. A center air spin vane rack is upstream of the secondary air tube in the first section. An adjustable spin vane rack is located radially outwardly of the secondary air tube for selectively spinning the main combustion air for flame adjustability. An air diverter is provided at a downstream end of the primary air tube. A compressed air atomizer is also at the downstream end of the primary air tube.

May 2, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/428494
Inventors:
John A. Marino - Lebanon PA, US
James J. Feese - Elizabethtown PA, US
Raymond F. Baum - Lebanon PA, US
Assignee:
Hauck Manufacturing, Inc. - Lebanon PA
International Classification:
F23D011/10
US Classification:
431 9, 431182, 431187
Abstract:
A swirl-type internal flame recirculation burner apparatus and method as used to fire asphalt plant aggregate dryers, air heaters and calcining kilns and method includes a compressed air oil atomizer assembly. The burning and swirling fuel and primary main combustion air mixture recirculates upstream along the burner axis. The secondary main combustion air may be swirled. The burner may also be fired on gas or a combination of gas and oil.

Reduced Nox Method Of Combustion

US Patent:
2006024, Nov 2, 2006
Filed:
Nov 17, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/281286
Inventors:
James Feese - Elizabethtown PA, US
Benjamin Gatto - Richland PA, US
Felix Lisin - Hershey PA, US
Assignee:
HAUCK MANUFACTURING COMPANY - Cleona PA
International Classification:
F23D 11/44
US Classification:
431215000
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for achieving low NOsingle-stage combustion. A high velocity burner is run normally, with combustion occurring within both the burner combustion chamber and furnace chamber, until the gases within the furnace exceed the auto-ignition temperature of the gaseous fuel. The gaseous fuel is then shut off until the temperature within the burner combustion chamber drops below the auto-ignition temperature of the gaseous fuel. The gaseous fuel is then turned back on and the gaseous fuel auto ignites within the furnace chamber. The combustion then occurs only within the furnace chamber and not in the burner combustion chamber.

Three Stage Low Noburner System With Controlled Stage Air Separation

US Patent:
8485813, Jul 16, 2013
Filed:
Jan 11, 2008
Appl. No.:
11/972745
Inventors:
James J. Feese - Elizabethtown PA, US
Bruce A. Wartluft - Lebanon PA, US
Assignee:
Hauck Manufacturing Company - Lebanon PA
International Classification:
F23M 3/00
US Classification:
431 9, 431 12, 431159, 431 8, 431187, 431 10, 431348
Abstract:
A low NOburner system is disclosed that reduces the emission of CO and HC during cold furnace startups, minimizes NOformation with preheated air, and provides a flat stable flame due to burner design improvements including three stage combustion. The burner system is designed to operate in either a low or high temperature mode by controlling the amount of combustion air provided to stage 1 and stage 2 combustion. The burner system is designed to heat the interior of a furnace for high-temperature combustion/furnace processes, such as aluminum melting and steel processes. The burner system can also be used for low temperature processes at temperatures below the auto-ignition temperature of the fuel and still produce very low CO, HC and NOemissions.

Three Stage Low Noburner And Method

US Patent:
7163392, Jan 16, 2007
Filed:
Sep 3, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/933840
Inventors:
James J. Feese - Elizabethtown PA, US
Bruce A. Wartluft - Lebanon PA, US
International Classification:
F23M 3/04, F23M 3/02, F23C 7/00
US Classification:
431 10, 431 8, 431116, 431181, 431187
Abstract:
The present invention is an air-staged low NOburner for firing a gaseous fuel. The burner fires three stages, with the first stage of combustion taking place substantially within a burner cup section of a refractory baffle, the second stage of combustion taking place adjacent to the baffle and downstream of the baffle, and the third stage of combustion within a furnace. The flow of main combustion air adjacent to the baffle creates a negative pressure zone adjacent to the baffle. The present invention is also a method for low NOstaged combustion.
