Student Robotics Competition
I was the Team Leader of our student team which placed 2nd in our category at a student robotics competition held at Purdue University. Our presentation involved programming a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machining system that created a consumer product in a few minutes. Raw material was CNC machined in a lathe to produce a handle, while another piece of raw material was CNC machined by a milling maching. The raw materials were handled exclusively by the robotic arm, and after machining the parts were assembled to create a sort of wrench tool. The goal of the project was to automate a manufacturing process to a high degree of precision and repeatability.
