Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for an oxy-fuel combustion power cycle are provided, including converting gaseous carbon dioxide to liquid and/or supercritical carbon dioxide which may include the use of a cryogenic pump, removing a portion of the liquid and/or supercritical carbon dioxide from the cycle, combusting oxygen and a combustion fuel with the remaining liquid and/or supercritical carbon dioxide in an oxy-fuel combustor to generate steam and additional liquid and/or supercritical carbon dioxide which replaces the portion of the liquid and/or supercritical carbon dioxide sequestered from the cycle.

Abstract:
An internally-cooled centrifugal compressor () having a shaped casing () a diaphragm () disposed within said shaped casing () having a gas side and a coolant side so that heat from a gas flowing though the gas side is extracted via the coolant side. An impeller () disposed within the diaphragm () has a stage inlet () on one side and an stage outlet () for delivering a pressurized gas to a downstream connection through the stage outlet coupling (). The coolant side of said diaphragm () includes at least one passageway for directing a coolant in a substantially counter-flow direction from the flow of gas through the gas side.
