Abstract:
A UPS includes power supply circuitry configured to selectively provide power to an external load from a plurality of power sources. An applications processor is integrated within the UPS, powered by the power supply circuitry, and configured to provide an operating system that supports loading and execution of externally-supplied applications, such as mission-critical network and/or control applications. The applications processor may be configured to provide a communications interface for the UPS, and may be operative to load applications via the communications interface. In further embodiments, a circuit card may be configured to be installed in a UPS and includes an applications processor configured to provide an operating system that supports loading and execution of externally supplied applications.

Methods, devices and computer program products are provided for capturing information associated with a triggering event at a network-enabled device. A triggering event is detected at a first network-enabled device. A message is transmitted to at least one other network-enabled device responsive to the detected triggering event. The message includes an indication of a time period associated with the triggering event and a request that the at least one other network-enabled device mark information associated with the at least one other network-enabled device during the associated time period as having significance, such that this information is retained rather than discarded.

Methods, devices and computer program products for verifying a network connection of a network-enabled device, for example, a power supply, are provided. A target device identifier of a target device on the network is provided at the network-enabled device. A signal is transmitted to the target device from the network-enabled device to determine if a connection exists between the network-enabled device and the target device.
