Jacky Chow received his MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering fromStanford University. He was interested in real estate early on: whilestudying for his MS degree at Stanford, Jacky passed the state exam andobtained a real estate salesperson license in 1989, though busy schoolwork prevented him from pursuing his real estate interests at that point. While Jacky was pursuing his PhD degree at Stanford, an exciting newtechnology called DSL was being developed by his PhD professor. UponJacky's graduation he had been working on the DSL technology at the startup company that his professor founded.
