Philosophy:
The diseases of Drug and Alcohol Dependence are insidious, serious conditions. The consequences of addiction lead to the loss of life, of jobs and of families. As an Internist and experienced Addictionist, I view the condition of addiction as a medical disease with a significant psychological component. My focus is in helping patients find the skills to avoid relapses and to repair trust in their relationships. I am licensed to provide opiate agonist treatment using Suboxone or Buprenorphine for Opiate (Opioid) Dependency. My approach to treatment is to help my patients deal with cravings and ways to learn to alter behavior and to cope with stress. In this way, I help patients understand their addictions and develop ways to maintain abstinence and rebuild their lives. I work closely with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to offer a rounded program of medical care, psychotherapy, coaching and counseling.
