Philosophy:
As a specialist in Cardiology, Dr Chowdhry puts a major emphasis on the prevention of heart disease. Patients are evaluated for cardiac risk factors including hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol , diabetes, smoking and obesity. Family history of early CAD is also a risk factor. Appropriate measures are taken to manage your heart disease risk factors.
Cardiovascular disease each year causes 900,000 deaths. Each year, half a million Americans die of heart attacks, which is the leading cause of death in the USA. 150,000 Americans die each year of stroke, which is third leading cause of death after heart attack & cancer. Heart failure (CHF) is the number one cause for hospital admission. CHF can lead to disability and death. Over 70 million Americans have hypertension, if undiagnosed & untreated, hypertension can lead to heart attack, strokes, kidney failure etc.
Dr Chowdhry will discuss his findings and risk prevention recommendations with you. Appropriate measures are taken to manage your risk factors. He will make sure all of your questions and concerns have been answered. Family members are welcome. Follow up visits may be necessary to asses effectiveness of treatment plan. All results and recommendations are coordinated with your primary care physician and promptly forwarded.
Dr Chowdhry's risk factor intervention treatment plan will greatly reduce your chances of becoming one of the above mentioned statitics.
