Method And Device For Controlling The Introduction Depth Of An Injection Needle

US Patent:
6482176, Nov 19, 2002
Filed:
Oct 2, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/555248
Inventors:
Horst Wich - Cathedral City CA
Assignee:
Disetronic Licensing AG - Burgdorf
International Classification:
A61M 500
US Classification:
604117, 604240
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling the introduction depth of an injection needle which is mounted inside a needle introduction device so as to be capable of axial displacement relative to an injection device coupled to said needle introduction device or arranged in the same. The maximum possible run of the injection needle is set to a value H and can be shortened using a cylindrical hollow spacing member which can be concentrically mounted about said injection needle. Since the maximum possible run H of the injection needle can be shortened using the spacing member , it is thus possible to obtain a penetration depth of variably range. To this end, it is possible to use a series of spacing members having different axial lengths x or a spacing member which can be screwed in a front position. The cylindrical hollow spacing member , which is concentrically mounted about the injection needle , is easy to press down to the chosen introduction depth into the needle introduction device presently used as it is clicked in or screwed in a front position.

Device For Introducing A Needle

US Patent:
6605058, Aug 12, 2003
Filed:
Oct 27, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/581589
Inventors:
Horst Wich - Cathedral City CA
Assignee:
Disetronic Licensing AG - Burgdorf
International Classification:
A61M 532
US Classification:
604117, 604412
Abstract:
A device for introducing a needle for injecting a liquid substance, wherein the device includes a housing, a rear longitudinal part forming a portion of the housing and including a piercing needle, the rear longitudinal part being connectable to an injection device separate from the housing, a front longitudinal part forming another portion of the housing and including an injection needle for delivering said liquid, and a flexible connection between the piercing needle and the injection needle.
