Abstract:
A packaged potable liquid, such as bottled water, wherein the liquid has little or no plastic off-taste. The packaged liquid includes a closure wherein the closure shell or the liner within the closure comprises a plastic matrix and an organic slip agent dispersed in the plastic matrix, the slip agent being substantially fully ethylenically saturated and the closure or the liner being substantially free of an ethylenically unsaturated compound. The packaged liquid also includes a container which is desirably substantially free of an ethylenically unsaturated compound.

Abstract:
A flame retardant and smoke suppressant electrical insulation composition for an electrical conductor comprises an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer, which contacts and surrounds the conductor, comprises a foamed polymeric material selected from the group consisting of polyolefins and polyurethane. The outer layer, which contacts and surrounds the inner layer, comprises a halogenated polymeric material and at least one outer layer additive to render the outer layer flame retardant and smoke suppressant. A flame retardant and smoke suppressant insulated electrical conductor comprises a length of electrically conductive material surrounded by the insulation composition. A flame retardant and smoke suppressant jacketed electrical cable comprises a plurality of insulated electrical conductors. An outer jacket, which substantially surrounds the insulated electrical conductors, comprises a halogenated polymeric material and at least one outer jacket additive to render the outer jacket flame retardant and smoke suppressant.

Abstract:
A closure sealant composition is suitable for sealing a lid to a container. The closure sealant composition comprises (a) a resin constituent selected from the group consisting of a polymeric resin and a blend of polymeric resins; and (b) at least one additive constituent selected from the group consisting of behenamide, a cyclodextrine and a plurality of cyclodextrines. The closure sealant composition preferably comprises 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % behenamide. The closure sealant composition can also comprise glycerol monostearate. The resin can comprise polyolefin, such as metallocene or ethylene vinyl acetate, as well as rubber.
