Hydraulic Transaxle For Garden Care Vehicle

US Patent:
2008026, Oct 30, 2008
Filed:
Jul 3, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/167438
Inventors:
Hollis N. White - Hopkinsville KY, US
International Classification:
F16D 39/00
US Classification:
60487, 60484, 60486
Abstract:
A hydrostatic transmission assembly includes a first gerotor motor, a pump housing, a first variable displacement pump, a second gerotor motor, and a second variable displacement pump. The first gerotor motor includes a first output shaft aligned along a first axis. The pump housing connects to and contacts the first gerotor motor. The first variable displacement pump includes a first driven shaft mounted to the pump housing and aligned along a second axis, the second axis being generally perpendicular to the first axis (the first output shaft axis). The first variable displacement pump is in fluid communication with the first gerotor motor via passages in the pump housing. The second gerotor motor includes a second output shaft generally aligned along or generally parallel to the first axis. The second gerotor motor is connected to the pump housing on an opposite side of the pump housing as the first gerotor motor. The second variable displacement pump includes a second driven shaft mounted to the pump housing and aligned generally parallel to the second axis. The variable displacement pump is in fluid communication with the second gerotor motor via passages in the pump housing.

Rotary Gerotor Hydraulic Device With Fluid Control Passageways Through The Rotor

US Patent:
4872819, Oct 10, 1989
Filed:
Mar 2, 1987
Appl. No.:
6/942836
Inventors:
Hollis N. White - Hopkinsville KY
International Classification:
F03C 208, F04C 210
US Classification:
418 613
Abstract:
A rotary fluid pressure device is disclosed comprising a housing having fluid inlet and outlet means and enclosing a gerotor having an internally toothed member and a coacting externally toothed member having a less number of teeth than the internally toothed member and having its axis positioned eccentrically relative to the axis of the internally toothed member. A wobble stick in the housing has a first end connected to the axial drive shaft and a second end connected to the gerotor member having the orbital movement. The housing has one set of passageways communicating at all times with the expanding and contracting gerotor cells. The gerotor member having orbital movement is, in addition to its usual function, a valve with two travel passageways, one travel passageway coaxially surrounding the other passageway. These two travel passageways communicate at all times part of the set of passageways in the housing with only one fluid inlet or outlet while communicating other of this same set of passageways with the other fluid inlet and outlet. A star-pointed annulus increases commutation fluid flow.

Hone For Gerotor Stators, And Honing Method

US Patent:
4592173, Jun 3, 1986
Filed:
Jun 29, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/626446
Inventors:
Hollis N. White - Hopkinsville KY
International Classification:
B23F 1905
US Classification:
51330
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for honing cylindrical bores adjacent to a larger cavity or bore is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a set of expandable abrasive-coated frustro-conical sleeves mounted on rotating shafts, one for each cylindrical bore, which circumferentially surround, and are supported by, a rotating inner supporting member. The sleeves and supporting member are moved through the bore and larger cavity in a direction along their axis of rotation, and in so doing, the sleeves contact the bore walls to impart a honing action. A means for precisely adjusting the final honing diameter of the sleeves is provided, as well as means for adjusting the distance of the sleeves from the center of the larger cavity. By adjusting the sleeves at successively closer positions to a desired final bore, the bore can be honed with great accuracy.

Gerotor Device With Biased Orbiting Valve And Drain Connection Through Wobblestick

US Patent:
5165880, Nov 24, 1992
Filed:
Jul 2, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/724903
Inventors:
Hollis N. White - Hopkinsville KY
Assignee:
White Hydraulics, Inc. - Hopkinsville KY
International Classification:
F01C 110, F03C 208
US Classification:
418 613
Abstract:
A spring loaded biasing cylinder on one side of an orbiting valve is utilized to seal the orbiting valve to the manifold structure on the opposing side of the valve to eliminate the necessity for physical seals therebetween. The center drive opening of the orbiting valve is expanded such that the center drive opening sweeps the longitudinal axis of as porting plate with a separate fluid connection through the porting plate allowing drainage of the central cavity of the gerotor device. A hole extending along the longitudinal axis of the wobble stick interconnects the central drive opening of the orbiting valve with such central cavity.
