As pertaining to Dental Hygiene:<br/> Administer local anesthetic to provide comfort and create a positive environment for the patient with competent pain and anxiety management (as of Sept. 2014)<br/> Perform detailed extraoral and intraoral examinations of the head and neck in addition to oral cancer screenings using Vizilite.<br/> Demonstrate proficient skills in dental prophylaxis and proper use of equipment.<br/> Effectively communicate Oral Hygiene Instructions and dispense proper oral hygiene aids.<br/> Build warm and honest relationships with patients - treating them like family.<br/> Maintain Patient Dental Charts - including graphical charting, perio charting, and proper chart documentation.<br/> Demonstrate complete knowledge and usage of dental terminology, dental instruments, tray setups, and instrument sharpening.<br/> Take, develop, and mount film and digital, diagnostically acceptable radio-graphs.<br/> Follow practice protocols: quality assurance, bio-hazards, infection control, charting, referral, emergency medicine, implants, perio STM program, and emergency treatment.<br/> Stock required supplies and maintain equipment.<br/> Fluent in Patterson software, familiar with Dentrix.
