Philosophy:
Many people continue to be frustrated by the internal confusion. The wish to change, no matter how sincere, rarely produces the desired results. Our actions have their roots in old patterns that may not be obvious to us. I am skilled in helping individuals to identify those old roots of thinking which prevent successful change. The goal of therapy is to become a better manager of our lives and our relationships. One's behaviors always make sense when we can see the actual roots of our thinking. The historical memories and assumptions are often obscure. We are often trying to fix historical feelings by the solutions we choose to solve our current problems--and the historical feelings are not fixed. Identifying those early fears is my specialty. I have owned my own out-patient therapy practice for forty years. I have also practiced in hospital and nursing home settings. I do relationship therapy I have had success with telephone consultation about life events.
