Abstract:
A method of transporting a module of a modular structure to a building site on a transporter with a roof of the module in a horizontal position, and an apparatus for coupling the roof to the base structure of the module to permit movement of the roof between the horizontal position and a final sloped position. The coupling apparatus includes a coupling assembly adapted to be detachably coupled in a C-shaped rafter or guide rail of the roof so as to guide movement of the rafter or guide rail relative to the coupling mechanism, and an anchor assembly pivotally coupled to the coupling assembly so as to permit pivotal and vertical movement of the coupling assembly. Each of the anchor assemblies is adapted to be secured to an attic floor panel of the module.

Frame Structure For Casting Concrete

US Patent:
4141532, Feb 27, 1979
Filed:
Oct 18, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/843344
Inventors:
Harlin J. Wall - State College PA
Assignee:
Leisure Life, Inc. - State College PA
International Classification:
B28B 722
US Classification:
249 94
Abstract:
A frame structure for casting a concrete building panel has a plurality of panel edge molding frame members with a generally U-shaped cross-section, a plurality of panel corner frame members with a configuration which corresponds to the angle of the corner of the panel. A number of edge molding frame members and the corner frame members are assembled in a panel molding frame with a length and width corresponding to the length and width of the panel to be molded with the ends of the edge molding frame members connected by the panel corner frame members, and with the opening of the U-shaped cross-section facing inwardly of the panel molding frame. Connectors rigidly connect the edge molding frame members to each other and to the panel corner frame members and a liner structure is provided in the interior of each of the edge molding frame members. The surfaces of the liner structure facing the space within the panel molding frame has a shape complementary to the shape of the edge of the panel to be molded.

Joist And Beam Hanger For Connecting Transverse Members To A U-Shaped Edge Beam

US Patent:
2008020, Aug 28, 2008
Filed:
Feb 8, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/068626
Inventors:
Harlin J. Wall - State College PA, US
International Classification:
E04B 1/38
US Classification:
526551
Abstract:
An edge beam construction including two vertical perforated rolled shapes with webs inverted toward the center of the beam, and a bottom track having a flange disposed in a vertical position against bottom lips of the vertical rolled shapes. The three basic components of the edge beam are positioned so as to provide access for press joining tools. A building module manufacturing method utilizes the light gauge steel rolled shapes that permit industrialized, automated manufacture of floor, roof and wall panels for modular housing and commercial structures with integrated mechanical and electrical systems and rigid framing for road transport without trailers. The module manufacturing method includes a novel method of constructing and positioning a gable.

Modular Housing System

US Patent:
2005018, Aug 25, 2005
Filed:
Oct 25, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/970980
Inventors:
Harlin Wall - State College PA, US
International Classification:
E04H005/00, E04H001/00
US Classification:
414787000
Abstract:
A modular production system and method for producing wall panels of a modular building. The system includes a worktable, a plurality of telescoping tools mounted over the worktable, an overhead tram disposed adjacent the worktable, and a plurality of material supply bridges movably supported on the overhead tram so as to be movable over the worktable. The method of manufacturing a panel of a modular structure includes moving the first material supply bridge over a worktable to place panels of sheeting on the worktable, and then moving a second material supply bridge over the worktable to place steel members for the construction of a steel frame. A third material supply bridge is then moved over the worktable to apply adhesive on the sheeting in a pattern mirroring the steel frame.
