Performed in an independent and collaborative role in both private and hospital based orthopedic practices. Worked extensively in clinical settings outpatient, emergency room, inpatient and surgery as a surgical orthopedic assistant. I have seen patients and managed patient's care including spine, sports medicine, foot and ankle, joint care and general orthopedic care. I have covered three emergency rooms "first call" for most of my career at the same time. I have extensive experience in fracture and dislocated joint reductions, splinting and casting all joints including reduction by fluoroscopy and conscious sedation. I have extensive experience with joint/tendon/bursa injections, all joints including intra-articular hip joint injections. I have performed independently some limited emergency room and outpatient procedures including but not limited to finger capitations, closure of simple and complex wounds, incision and drainage of wounds, repair simple tendon lacerations. I have practiced independently in a satellite office extending our practice for most of my career. I have the ability to read and interpret all of the diagnostic studies I order including, but not limited to, XRAY, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Lab. I have performed on-site athletic coverage for multiple high schools, Fort Scott Community College independently all of my career and assisted with Pittsburg State University.
