Appl. No.:
09/575389
Inventors:
Glenn E. Thomas - Louisville KY
Paul T. Scherer - Lexington KY
Joseph L. Hallock - Lexington KY
Edward B. Alcorn - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Chromatography Research Supplies, Inc. - Louisville KY
International Classification:
B67B 700
US Classification:
81 32
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a powered decapping tool used to remove a cap from a bottle or vial. The powered tool has a vertical housing portion which the user holds to activate the decapping action. The decapping action results form a motor causing a plunger to move downward, thereby initially closing a plurality of jaws and continuing downward to cooperate with the jaws to remove the cap from the bottle or vial. Means may be provided to adjust the starting point of the decapping cycle or the plunger upper limit as well as the finishing point of the decapping cycle or the plunger lower limit.

Powered Crimping Tool

US Patent:
6196045, Mar 6, 2001
Filed:
Dec 20, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/468031
Inventors:
Glenn E. Thomas - Louisville KY
Paul T. Scherer - Lexington KY
Joseph L. Hallock - Lexington KY
Edward B. Alcorn - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Chromatography Research Supplies, Inc. - Louisville KY
International Classification:
B21D 700, B65B 728
US Classification:
72454
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a powered crimping tool. In the parent application, referenced above, the tool, having a plurality of crimping jaws, is used to secure a cap onto a bottle or vial. In this application, the tool, having a pair of opposed crimping heads, is used to crimp a solderless terminal, splice, butt connector, or the like, having a wire inserted into a shaft and to be retained therein. The powered tool has a housing portion which the user holds and includes switches for the user to control the plunger and the crimping action. Selected mating crimper heads in the plunger and the crimper housing effectuate the crimping of the selected terminal to retain the wire therein. These mating crimper heads can be changed to accommodate a variety of different size and shape terminals, splices, butt connectors, wires, and the like. Terminals may be insulated or not.

High Capacity Gas Filter System With Indicator

US Patent:
7744684, Jun 29, 2010
Filed:
Apr 25, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/789679
Inventors:
Glenn E. Thomas - Louisville KY, US
Assignee:
Chromatography Research Supplies, Inc. - Louisville KY
International Classification:
B01D 53/02
US Classification:
96417, 96117, 961175, 96135, 55DIG 34
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a high capacity gas filter system. The metal filter of the system includes a visible indicator which indicates when the filter is spent. The indicator is preferably a non-reactive glass tube with indicator material therein. The glass tube can be protected to maintain gas flow integrity in case the glass tube breaks. The filter is attachable to or removable from its connecting base using a cooperating threaded knob and threaded bolt such that the filter is pulled tightly onto the base and forced off of the base depending on how the knob is rotated.
