Abstract:
A system for providing optimal access in a vascular environment is provided that includes a first lumen operable to be used in a procedure involving a vessel of a patient and a second lumen operable to be inserted in conjunction with the first lumen in the procedure. A first wire is provided and inserted in the first lumen and positioned in a first direction. A second wire is provided and used in the second lumen and positioned in an opposite direction, which is not the same as the first direction. In a more particular embodiment, the above-identified system may include a dilator operable to dilate the vessel in conjunction with the procedure and a sheath operable to deliver the first and second lumens for the procedure.
