Philosophy:
Three phase Evaluation: 1) Intake-clinical interview. 2) Testing for mood disorders and Coping styles. 3) Multimodal Life History to Determine significant life events.
Therefore, My Care Philosophy is to find out exactly who it is that is sitting before me and what it is that they would like to address or resolve.
In addition to mood inventories that are completed after the first appointment, patients are tested with the ASRS, Adult ADHD scale to examine the possibility of adult attention deficit disorder.
My practice is multidisciplinary and there is an emphasis on medication management if and when it is necessary. If a patient is on multiple medications, DNA testing may be suggested as a way to reduce some of the "trial and error" dynamics of medication prescribing.
