Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to independently provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups and families. Hold a Master of Social Work degree in Social Work at The University of Michigan, complemented with State of Michigans Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) credentials. Knowledge of community resources, how to make appropriate referrals to community and other governmental agencies for services, and the ability to coordinate services. Coordinate key service among school and community services and medical professionals, as well as render staff training on classroom interventions and nonviolent physical interventions; and serve as member of Multi-Disciplinary Team and Child Study Team. Ability to independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members. Work collaboratively with teams in developing functional behavioral assessment (FBA), as well as establishing students' individualized interventions as seen in a behavioral intervention plan. Ability to independently conduct psychosocial assessments and treatment. Knowledge and experience in the use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. Effectively work in a team of various professionals, including doctors and nurses, in providing assessments and treatment, as well as utilizing related procedures. Knowledge of psychosocial treatment and the ability to independently implement treatment modalities in working with individuals, families and groups. Employ family system theory as well as insight, cognitive, behavioral, and play therapies in treatment of substance abuse and all other addictive issues.
