Abstract:
This invention relates to a novel method for genetic linkage analysis and identification of a mutated gene by mitotic recombination. In particular, this invention relates to a method for genetic linkage analysis and identification of a mutated gene linked with the rare autosomal dominant disorder Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva. This invention also relates to the defective and/or mutated genes for Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva identified by Applicants' novel methods. Kits and apparatus for genetic linkage analysis and identification of a mutated gene are also provided.
