System For Managing Documents And Associated Document Information Deficiencies

US Patent:
2006021, Sep 28, 2006
Filed:
Feb 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/352667
Inventors:
Andres Hernandez - Downingtown PA, US
William Lusen - East Norriton PA, US
Frank Racis - Spring City PA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/00, G06F 19/00
US Classification:
705003000, 715511000
Abstract:
A system auto-analyzes a document to automatically complete a record (e.g., a patient record) and create data indicating a document deficiency and assign data indicating the deficiency after the document is acquired into a patient record based on the type of the document and a predefined set of rules. A healthcare document processing system processes data indicating a document deficiency preventing a document from being designated complete. The system includes an interface for receiving data including a patient record identifier and data identifying a document, and an associated document type, the document having been added to a patient record having the patient record identifier. A document processor, in response to the received data, automatically: searches deficiency information associated with the patient record to identify a document deficiency associated with the document of the document type; indicates a deficiency associated with absence of the document from the patient record is corrected; and determines if a new deficiency is associated with the document and generates associated deficiency data identifying the new deficiency for incorporation in the deficiency information.

Oct 31, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/554638
Inventors:
Andres Hernandez - Downingtown PA, US
William D. Lusen - East Norriton PA, US
Frank W. Racis - Spring City PA, US
Assignee:
SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS HEALTH SERVICES CORPORATION - Malvern PA
International Classification:
G06F 19/00, G06F 17/00
US Classification:
705 3, 715530
Abstract:
A document deficiency processing system enables a clinician to complete a deficiency by filling and electronically signing a form online using a form template created and associated with a particular document type and automatically initiates sending the filled form to a patient record. A healthcare document processing system for processing a document deficiency preventing a patient record from being designated complete, includes a repository of form information associating an individual form with a document type. A workflow processor automatically employs the repository to identify a particular form, in response to receiving data indicating a document having a particular document type is missing from a record of a particular patient. The workflow processor automatically initiates communication of a message to a user to prompt the user to complete the particular form on-line. An interface initiates communication of data representing the filled in particular form to the record of the particular patient.

International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
715243, 715222, 715225, 715226
Abstract:
A document generation system produces a document from information derived from an information repository. The document generation system includes a source of code, a source of document generation control information, and a document processor. The source of code represents a document template including data fields containing placeholder items to be replaced by desired data items, and a repetition identifier indicating that one of the data fields is to be replicated to provide a group of data fields to be replaced by the desired data items. The source of document generation control information supports insertion of the desired data items derived from the information repository in the data fields. The document processor applies the control information in replacing template document data field placeholder items with desired data items to produce a generated document.
