Use Of Aircraft Cabin Surfaces To Guide Airflow And Sound

US Patent:
2011025, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 18, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/089261
Inventors:
Frank E. HASHBERGER - Snohomish WA, US
Sylvio A.C. BRAVETTI - Brier WA, US
Assignee:
BE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INC. - Wellington FL
International Classification:
B64D 13/00
US Classification:
454 76
Abstract:
An interior ceiling panel system includes a ceiling panel mounted in a ceiling area, a first airflow directing panel in a first side of the ceiling area defining an airflow passage, and a second airflow directing panel in a second side of the ceiling area, defining an eddy space. An airflow supply source introduces airflow into the ceiling area, and the second airflow directing panel provides an obstruction that creates an eddy in the eddy space that incoming airflow with air in the cabin. One or more speakers project sound energy upward toward the ceiling panel, which deflects sound energy to provide more uniform sound levels in the cabin.

Aircraft Bin Module With Integrated Air Ducts And Lighting

US Patent:
2011025, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 18, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/089114
Inventors:
Frank E. HASHBERGER - Snohomish WA, US
Assignee:
BE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INC. - Wellington FL
International Classification:
B64D 11/00, B64D 13/00
US Classification:
2441185
Abstract:
An aircraft overhead luggage bin module includes a stowage bin assembly, an integral light assembly providing structural stiffness to an upper portion of the stowage bin assembly. The stowage bin assembly includes an air distribution plenum that also transmits loads to mounting structures, an upper air diffuser connected to the air distribution plenum, and an optional lower sidewall diffuser connected to the air distribution plenum.

Electrically Activated Latch For Aircraft Stowage Bins

US Patent:
2011025, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 18, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/089187
Inventors:
Frank E. HASHBERGER - Snohomish WA, US
Clarence IVESTER - Arlington WA, US
Assignee:
BE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INC. - Wellington FL
International Classification:
G08B 21/00, E05B 47/00, E05C 19/00, A47B 46/00, A47B 81/00
US Classification:
340945, 312246, 312247, 312248, 292 2
Abstract:
An electrically activated latch for aircraft stowage bins includes an overhead stowage bin module having a stationary support structure and a movable stowage bin portion. An electrically operated stowage bin latch mechanism latches the movable stowage bin portion in a closed position and unlatches the movable stowage bin portion to an open position. An electrically operated stowage bin activation switch operates the stowage bin latch mechanism, allowing the aircraft stowage bins to be locked by independently controlling the overhead stowage bins through the aircraft cabin management system, or by control of the latch by the stowage bin activation switch.

Aircraft Ceiling Module With Integrated Lighting, Valences And Wiring

US Patent:
2011025, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 18, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/089229
Inventors:
Frank E. HASHBERGER - Snohomish WA, US
Sylvio A. C. BRAVETTI - Brier WA, US
Assignee:
BE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INC. - Wellington FL
International Classification:
B64D 47/02
US Classification:
362471
Abstract:
An aircraft ceiling module includes a ceiling panel with integrated lighting, valences and wiring. LED lighting units are mounted directly to the ceiling panel, and one or more valence panels are connected to the ceiling panel to shield the LED lighting units. The valence panels are integral to the ceiling panel, and provide structural stiffness to overall construction of the ceiling module. Wiring connected to the LED lighting units is integrated into the ceiling panel.
