Planing Ski Conversion To Stand-Off Armor

US Patent:
3983832, Oct 5, 1976
Filed:
Jul 18, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/597854
Inventors:
Floyd A. Kinder - Ridgecrest CA
Assignee:
The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy - Washington DC
International Classification:
B60F 300
US Classification:
115 1R
Abstract:
An amphibious vehicle is provided with pivoted plates on either side for ement between an extended position approximately horizontal and a "folded" position approximately vertical with respect to the normal position of the vehicle. A third plate may also be attached beneath and parallel to the bottom of the vehicle. These plates are so shaped that in the extended position they serve as planing skis and are fabricated from a material which will afford armor protection to the vehicle when the plates are in the folded or retracted position.

Rotatable Head Up Display With Coordinate Reversal Correctives

US Patent:
3945716, Mar 23, 1976
Filed:
Dec 20, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/534617
Inventors:
Floyd A. Kinder - Ridgecrest CA
Assignee:
The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy - Washington DC
International Classification:
G02B 2714
US Classification:
350174
Abstract:
A rotatable head up display system is provided to furnish target coorindate nformation to the pilot of an aircraft, for example. The head up display may be slaved to a FLIR or TV tracker to display the scene viewed thereby as well as the azimuth with respect to the aircraft. A small cathode ray tube is used for the display and the scene is viewed through a holographic lens so that the display appears at infinity focus. The pilot is also provided with means for controlling the aiming of the sensor (FLIR, TV, or the like).

Balloon Antenna

US Patent:
7224322, May 29, 2007
Filed:
Jun 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/177649
Inventors:
Sam Ghaleb - Ridgecrest CA, US
Floyd A. Kinder - Ridgecrest CA, US
Assignee:
The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy - Washington DC
International Classification:
H01Q 15/20
US Classification:
343915, 343912, 342 8, 342 10
Abstract:
A phased array balloon antenna having an inner membrane coupled to an outer membrane and a phased array antenna connected to an inner membrane. The phased array antenna transmits an energy towards a reflective film on the outer membrane, reflecting the energy outwards and illuminating an area smaller than that illuminated by the phased array alone.
