Then I advise and guide them in their decision, thus enabling them to achieve the results they want.<br /><br />Bottom line - I’m an advocate of the Platinum Rule, which is similar to the Golden Rule, but better.<br /><br />The Golden Rule states, in its simplest form, “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” I believe in it 110%, especially when it comes to honesty, values, and ethics. However, I have found it can sometimes backfire since others may not want to be treated the same way I do.<br /><br />The Platinum Rule states “Treat others the way they would like to be treated.” When I treat people this way, I am paying attention to their needs, wants, and expectations. I’m trying to walk in their shoes, to understand their feelings, and see their points of view. I find that this builds trust, friendship, and respect…….three requirements for any strong relationship.
