I provide mental health care directly to sufferers of a variety of illnesses and provide diagnostic second opinions and treatment consultation to other mental health professionals on conversion seizures and dissociative disorders. I favor use of psychodynamic psychotherapy, usually with longer-term doctor patient relationships, and I also provide medication management to selected patients who are seeing other therapists. I value open discussion of the role of spirituality and religion in mental health. I am trained in Level I EMDR and in hypnosis. I welcome discussion and questions about diagnoses and treatment plans, and try to provide education to my patients to enable them to learn to understand themselves. My goal is to "work myself out of a job." I believe I should strive to provide the highest level of care and practice with the highest ethics. I provide consultation to attorneys on legal cases on a limited basis.
