I studied under the supervision of a RN nursing instructor. I provided bedside care, treatment, and clinical documentation for patients on telemetry, oncology, medical-surgical, labor and delivery, postpartum, and pediatric floors. I handled medication administration, dressing changes, IVs and all other aspects of nursing care. I facilitated discharges and transfers; prepared chart notes and other documentation; and participated on interdisciplinary team. I observed surgical procedures and other diagnostic tests being performed. I helped patients recover from anesthesia as well as monitor them after wards. I experienced the procedures involved with administering chemotherapy and teaching the patient about the medication they were receiving.
