Filed:
Jan 24, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/590544
Inventors:
Edwin D. Vyhmeister - Seattle WA
International Classification:
G02C 100, A47F 500
US Classification:
351158
Abstract:
A holding device for removably retaining eyeglasses therein when the eyeglasses are not in use. The holding device includes a rear flange, a flexible retaining flange spaced apart from the rear flange, a nasaloid support member between the rear flange and retaining flange in a position to removably support the nasal pads of the eyeglasses when the eyeglasses are in a retained position. The rear and retaining flanges are contoured to form a glasses receiving area therebetween such that the rear and retaining flanges engage the glasses and hold the glasses in the receiving area. The retaining flange has a flexible curved upper portion that extends toward the rear flange, such that the flexible upper portion is above the nasaloid support member. An arm support member is attached to the retaining flange, and is positioned to support at least one of the arms of the eyeglasses when the eyeglasses are in the retained position. The arm support member includes an arm blocking tab that is spaced apart from the retaining flange with the flexible retaining flange being intermediate the front blocking tab and the rear flange.
