Paint Roller Cleaner And Remover

US Patent:
4667361, May 26, 1987
Filed:
Jul 25, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/758781
Inventors:
Edward O. Wolcott - Gainesville FL
Raymond Croix - Gainesville FL
International Classification:
A47L 1302
US Classification:
15236R
Abstract:
A tool for scraping paint from the nap of a roller and for providing a hand grip by which a paint roller can be slid off a mandrel which holds it on the paint roller handle. The tool is in the form of a cylindrical tube slit at one side and has an integral hinge opposite the slit so it can be opened into two semicylindrical halves. The curved ends of the semicylindrical halves are used to scrape paint from the nap of the roller. A corresponding end of each half is formed with an inwardly extending flange so that the tool can be closed about a roller with the flange abutting the end of the roller. The tool is then used as a handle to slide the roller off the mandrel.

Method Of Extruding Parts With Captured Fixture

US Patent:
4422236, Dec 27, 1983
Filed:
Oct 1, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/307696
Inventors:
James K. Ware - Gainesville FL
Edward O. Wolcott - Gainesville FL
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Gainesville FL
International Classification:
H01R 4300
US Classification:
29876
Abstract:
An improved apparatus and a method are disclosed for extruding an improved type of small part of the type having a body portion (12) of extrudable material and a fixture (18, 20; 54, 56) of harder material captured at the surface of the body. A female die element (22, 24) is provided with a bore (26) which extends into a downwardly opening cavity (28) having a geometry corresponding to the desired geometry of the body portion of the part. A male die member (36) is positioned within the bore and includes at its lower end a threaded socket (50) or protrusion (52) for holding the fixture of harder material during extrusion. Thus, when a billet of extrudable material (48) is placed in the cavity and the male die member is moved downward, the material extrudes around a portion of the fixture held at the lower end of the male die element.

Method And Apparatus For Preparing Lead-Acid Battery Pastes

US Patent:
4346022, Aug 24, 1982
Filed:
Apr 13, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/030039
Inventors:
Edward O. Wolcott - Gainesville FL
Frank W. Wentzel - Gainesville FL
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Gainesville FL
International Classification:
H01B 106
US Classification:
252509
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for preparing battery paste for battery plate grids which includes the steps of feeding measured quantities of lead powder, water and dilute sulfuric acid to a power driven mixer, measuring the power input to the power mixer drive and adding water to the mixture until the power input is at a predetermined value. The apparatus includes a stationary mixer, an agitator in the mixer, a power drive for the agitator and power measuring means for measuring the power input to the power drive for moving the agitator through the paste mixture.
