Cane Fishing Pole Tip

Cane Fishing Pole Tip

US Patent:
4300303, Nov 17, 1981
Filed:
Jul 25, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/172123
Inventors:
Duane Hutson - Coral Gables FL
International Classification:
A01K 8700
US Classification:
43 24
Abstract:
A fishing pole tip, including a main tubular shank portion for glued attachment to the tip end of a pole such as a cane pole, and a front end cap, having a diametrically disposed hole in its front wall, opening into an enlarged interiorly threaded chamber for threaded engagement onto an exteriorly threaded, longitudinally diametrically slotted front end nose portion of the main tip portion. The front end of the nose portion and the interior front end of the cap are complimentarily tapered in a manner whereby a fishing line, extending inwardly through the front end cap hole, through the nose slot and outwardly between a rear edge of the cap and a shoulder rearwardly of the nose portion, will be securely locked against longitudinal adjustment when the cap is tightened on the nose portion while permitting a length adjustment of the usable portion of the fishing line when the cap is loosened.

Fishing Float

Fishing Float

US Patent:
4644681, Feb 24, 1987
Filed:
Mar 18, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/713235
Inventors:
Duane Hutson - Coral Gables FL
International Classification:
A01K 9300
US Classification:
43 4491
Abstract:
A fishing line float is disclosed which has an axis, essentially coincident with the fishing line on which it is used. The main body of the float is comprised of a material having a specific gravity substantially less than one, and includes an axial channel with a first cross sectional configuration extending from a first end thereof, and opening into an enlarged channel portion at a second end with a second cross sectional configuration. A bushing is exteriorly sized and configured for press fitted engagement within the length of the two channel portions and includes an interior screwthreaded fore portion extending from the first end to a tapered portion, somewhat inward of the second end which terminates in a keyhole slot opens radially outward at the second end in alignment with coincident slots opening radially outward through the length of the bushing and main body. A longitudinally slotted screw core including tapered inner end side portions is engageable in the bushing bore in a manner whereby a fishing line engaged therethrough may be selectively secured or released relative to the float by proper rotational actuation of an outward extension of the core at the first end.

Fishing Weight

Fishing Weight

US Patent:
4472903, Sep 25, 1984
Filed:
Mar 30, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/248942
Inventors:
Duane Hutson - Coral Gables FL
International Classification:
A01K 9300
US Classification:
43 4491
Abstract:
A fishing weight or sinker is disclosed which has an axis, essentially coincident with the fishing line on which it is used. The main body of the weight is comprised of a material having a specific gravity substantially greater than one, and includes an axial channel with a first cross sectional configuration extending from a first end thereof, and opening into an enlarged channel portion at a second end with a second cross sectional configuration. A longitudinally slotted screw core including tapered inner end side portions is engageable in the bushing bore in a manner whereby a fishing line engaged therethrough may be selectively secured or released relative to the weight by proper rotational actuation of an outward extension of the core at the first end.

Fishing Float

Fishing Float

US Patent:
4426804, Jan 24, 1984
Filed:
Jul 6, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/280983
Inventors:
Duane Hutson - Coral Gables FL
International Classification:
A01K 9300
US Classification:
43 4491
Abstract:
A fishing float is disclosed which is comprised of two longitudinally extending half portions, lengthwisely hinged together in a manner whereby they may be opened to expose the interiors thereof and closed to form a symmetrical configuration. Each half portion defines a hollow shell with a replaceable half core therein, formed of a suitable low specific gravity closed cell form material. One half portion includes a friction jaw in each end for adjustable securing engagement with a fishing line passing therethrough, and a snap lock is formed integrally with respective mating edges of the two halves to secure said two halves in a closed condition.

US Patent:
4279092, Jul 21, 1981
Filed:
Jan 24, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/114895
Inventors:
Duane Hutson - Coral Gables FL
International Classification:
A01K 9500
US Classification:
43 4491
Abstract:
A fishing weight body having an axis which is coincident or coplanar with the fishing line on which it is used, the body of which is comprised of a material having a specific gravity substantially greater than one, said body having an axial channel containing a resilient but substantially incompressible insert such as nylon and with the body of the weight being formed with lips to retain the resilient insert and further being formed with a recess proximate the insert into which a portion of the insert may flex for quick release or insertion of the fishing line.
